Food Stuff offers paella party catering services in Sydney, surrounding suburbs and further afield such as Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Mid Coast, North Coast & more.  We have been catering for paella party functions and events since 2003 – many others have since followed suit but we think we are still the leaders providing a quality service and product

It is simply delicious, fresh, healthy and entertaining to watch it being cooked…. adding some theatre to your event and presented in a rustic style

Our paellas always contain premium, quality ingredients with more than a generous ratio of protein to rice, which provides the best and most satisfying results for you and your guests – it is all in the eating!  It really is the BEST paella around which is a comment we often hear from party guests

Where will we travel to?

Food Stuff is based in Mona Vale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and as part of our paella catering services, we can cook at your home or hired venue

We are also happy to travel to events outside of Sydney to anywhere within NSW or Australia. Venues outside of Sydney may include a travel fee.  If you can provide us with the venue address and details about your event, we can then provide you with a quote.

For events being held in public places council approval is required which is easily obtained depending on the council in question

We have catered at venues such as Manly Dam, Davidson Park Forestville and North Harbour Reserve Balgowlah to name but a few


Styles of events suitable for Paella Catering

We often cater for the following events; Christenings and baptisms, anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, openings, hens lunch, Christmas parties, Melbourne Cup lunches, book launches, wakes, corporate events – paella is suitable for any occasion loved by all ages


How many do we cater for?

As your numbers increase, the price per head decreases

There is a minimum charge for smaller groups of up to 10 people

We are equipped and experienced to offer paella catering in Sydney for larger groups up to 500+ people.

We have many sizes of paella pans and bring along to your event the appropriate size of pan depending on how many people you will be catering for
Our largest pans will hold 250 portions of paella in the one pan!

Paella Catering for allergies when cooking paella

All of our paellas are free of gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, mushrooms, alcohol and soy

We are happy to provide a smaller vegetarian (also vegan) paella in addition to the main paella (maximum of 10 portions or this may incur an additional cost)

We are also happy to provide a smaller chicken and chorizo paella (meat only) if required for those allergic to or not wanting shellfish  (maximum of 10 portions or this may incur an additional cost)


Styles of Paella

Chicken, chorizo, prawn & mussels (Meat & seafood)

Our traditional and most popular paella includes a combination of chicken, chorizo, bacon, vegetables, rice, spices, mussels and prawns.  This is the paella which we serve at 99% of the events we cater for

Chicken & chorizo (Meat only no seafood)

For guests who don’t eat or are allergic to seafood we can take out the required number of portions from the main paella (towards the end of the cooking) just before we add the prawns and mussels and we then continue to cook this separately

Fish & seafood (No meat)

We can also offer a separate paella it is an extra $5pp and a minimum of 20 portions

Vegetarian (No meat or seafood also vegan)

We can also offer a vegetarian paella option.  This paella is also vegan i.e no dairy or egg – at no additional cost

With our paellas we serve

Wedges of lemon, aioli (garlic mayonnaise) which is also gluten & dairy free, crusty bread and a dressed, mixed, green leaf salad

Setting Up the Paella Catering At Your Sydney Party Venue

We will usually arrive 2 hours prior to your serving time to set up when catering for your paella party.  We bring all the equipment along to your venue to cook the paella including trestle tables. Our paella pans sit on their own gas burners so we don’t require electricity to cook the paella

A flat, level surface, covered and protected from the elements wind, rain & sun.  Lighting is required if we are cooking and serving in the evening and it’s going to be dark.  We often cook inside, especially in winter.  The kitchen bench is always an ideal place to cook the paella, we bring protective hotplates in this instance

On fine, dry days with no chance of rain we are happy to cook outside but it’s always best to have a plan B just in case of bad weather on the day

Once you have booked our paella catering services in Sydney, if we cannot establish a suitable place to cook over the phone, we are happy to conduct a site visit to discuss the set up for your event.  We usually arrange this the week leading up to the event

What we provide

Along with our paella party catering in Sydney, for $1 per person, we can supply disposable palm leaf plates, wooden forks & napkins which are all biodegradable.  We recommend these palm leaf plates as they are substantial and don’t conduct the heat like bamboo, plastic or cardboard.  If you choose this option we ask that you provide bins for people to dispose of them easily.

Costing does not include linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, beverages, collecting or washing up of plates & cutlery

We are happy to provide tables to set up the paella unless you have one in situ or the kitchen bench that you prefer us to use.

We provide a chef and assistant (or assistants depending on numbers) to cook and serve the paella from the pan buffet style.

Cooking time is approximately 45 mins.  Once we have served the paella we will clear away and depart

Paella party catering enquiries, booking procedure and payments

Please make an enquiry either by phone or via e mail on our contact page giving us a brief overview of your event.  We will then send through to you the required information sheets with prices

If you would like to proceed with your event the next stage is to hold the date with a deposit. Deposits are a minimum of $450
Deposits once paid are not transferable and not refundable as we hold that date for you and thereby refuse other bookings
On receipt of the deposit we will send out a booking confirmation to you

Final numbers, final details and balance of payment are due 5 full working days prior to the event. For example, we call you on Monday for a Saturday event.

We accept; Visa & Mastercard or you can make payment via eft transfer. American Express attracts a 1.5% surcharge. Cheques are acceptable but need to be banked 7 working days prior to an event
